- March 2017: This business started off an initial request from a landlord to copy an apartment key fob allowing the tenants sharing the apartment to each have an access token into the building and gym.
- April 2017: Copycat Keys online was setup to provide after hours and weekend callout service was established for the CBD and inner east Melbourne.
- January 2018: Due to time demand, the callout service has been discontinued and replaced with a Mail-In service instead.
